Thanks for the ideas. Living in the middle of nowhere, although it has some wonderful advantages, has it setbacks. I will probably need to take a trip and go visit home depot and see what they have.

Nematodes sound great, but where to get them? and how long would it take? (I am a bit concerned about the speedy resolution of this issue)

Would stakes or other chemicals have negative effects on the bananas?
