I cut a pup off that was almost as big as mama! It had nice roots so had no problem adjusting to its own pot. I cut the 2 biggest pups off. Mama was/is about 11- 12 ft.
Get someone to help you lift it out after you cut it off & dig out. I really think it will give mama more energy & hopefully you'll get that flower soon.
