I live close to the water, so , I deal with shredded leaves year round. There's always wind blowing here, but it doesn't seem to bother the plants any. So far I have only grown dwarf or semi-dwarf varieties, and haven't had any blown over. That would be my biggest concern. I'm getting ready to plant some taller varieties so we will see what happens. I'll probably have to prop a few when they have fruit, not a bad trade off! Here's a recent picture.
