Default Been Asked Before But....

I have many new pups on the pups that I bought a couple of months ago. Some of them are planted on half whiskey barrels. They are doing great!
I have a dwarf cavendish and Sweetheart that have 3 pups each, One pup on Dwarf Brazilian but this is planted on the ground.
OK I think I read here that you can keep 3 as maximum pups you are allowed to keep, the rest you discard. I also think I read that if it is in a container you can only have one pup if you want a nice fruit.
Now am I correct to assume tha the above statement is correct?
Please ascertain that it is so.
And if I want to separate the pups and let it live, how big will they be before I separate them from the mother plant?
