Default Re: Been Asked Before But....

You saw the Dwarf Cav grove that the pup I sent you came from. There were 2 pseudostems with large bunches of fruit, 4 half grown stems and now about 4 little pups from just new to about 8 inches. I can't bring myself to cut off and toss pups just to manage the clump to 3. All of my clumps have at least 6 stems in them. I have more bananas than I can use so I really don't care if I could get 20 more bananas per stem if I cut them back. The only situation I really notice is the first bunch from a clump is small, next is better and by the 3rd, really nice. Some are different. My Double Moai and Red Iholene have their first fruit now and both are real good size.
So I would do what you like. I do agree if in a container, probably one to varied size pups and the mother is about it.

As for size to remove a pup, look at the various sizes I sent you. The Ele Ele was a bit smaller than I would normally send but I needed to get them off so I gave them to you smaller than usual (and price was right). I would think maybe 8 inches as a minimum although a lot smaller will usually make it.
How are they growing?
