Default Re: Newbie in Florida

Welcome Michael to Bananas dot org. Your Dwarf Namwa needs to be watered more, thus the yellow leaves. One of your pictures of the leaf spots is indicative of Black Sigatoka, a disease that Dwarf Namwa is prone to. When watering bananas in Florida, water the roots not the leaves.

The FHIA cultivars are much better suited to Florida conditions especially SH-3640. Check out Going Bananas in Homestead, as they have many disease resistant cultivars available.

Good weather and good growing to you, and may Richard not come your way!
