UK's weather has gone nuts!!!
Hi,
Has anyone else noticed or is it more extreme in SW UK? Spring started early and very very hot. That was followed by two months a rain and wind and now hail storms which make London look like a snowscape.
Actually the plants seem to mostly be thriving, even the tropicals which seem to think the extra water outweighs the lack of sunshine. It is impossible for the compost heap to keep up with the phenomomenal rate of unwanted growth of grass, hedges, weeds... and that is not normally the case. Most plants are enormous and lush. The leaves on my ginko are 3 times their normal size!
However, everything here is also confused. The apples are ready (sept /oct normally). The berries are all ready (sept normally), the mushrooms are coming up (Aug to Nov usually) and now I notice my mandrakes are coming up (october nermally). Everything thinks summer has finished at the begining of July!
Everything has done really well and produced bumper crops, but if summer has finished when it normally starts, what are the plants going to do between now and october?
