Default Re: Musa Ornata Bloom!!!

Hi Andrei,

This looks very much like the banana which I acquired recently in Vietnam (See: I Think I Scored a Coup) and which was here tentatively identified as Musa Ornata.

My questions are, How high is the tip of the flower? And how long did it take from pup to flower? The ones I saw (3), were all under 1.2 m from ground to flower tip.

I looked up Irkutsk and am quite amazed, that on the 52nd Parallel in the middle of the continent you still are in a 8 hardiness zone. I would have expected much harsher winters, just by looking at the map
Best,
Olaf
