It may sound weird to you, but when I was a kid I always liked to play at a park near the front of my house. On that park there were lots of banana plants(I still remember people talking they were "manzano" variety). I remember that besides the banana plants there were these particular post-mounted street lamps that were used of course to light-up the pathways in the park at night. They looked really cool hidden between the banana plants along the side of the pathways. After they got old they got replaced by the more modern arm type lamps.
The thing is that I will try to reproduce the same sight seeing on my yard. I have tried to find these post-mount street lamps with no-luck so far. I have tried local electric/lamp/hardware shops, e-bay, in order to see if I can get the manufacturer or model, and still nothing. While in Troy, MI I was able to locate three of them on a public parking lot from a restaurant. They are still being in use, so they won't sell them to me. I managed to take pictures though, so if anyone can find some of these hanging around on their basement, or know a place where to find them, please let me know.
I will try to post the pictures of the lamp here, if not I'll probably post them in my gallery.
Thanks,
Carlos(tropicalkid)
