Default Re: How soon until i can fertilize newly planted plants?

I often compost right underneath trees I planted a month ago.
with my well draining soil I have no worries about root rot and kitchen waste provides low analysis, soil invigorating fertilization
I then fertilizer at the recommended rate after the first growth flush.

Bananas on the other hand I plant with 100lbs of fresh horse poop and 50-100lbs leaves. Dig a 3x3x2 pit and mix it all in with the native soil.
I NEVER PUT THE CORM IN THIS MIX, but after I've backfilled the pit I dig a small hole in the center of my new mix and pour some unamended sand which the corm goes into
That way the young corm isn't in instant direct contact with my hot mix.
I fertilize with SOP after the third leaf.

short answer THIRD LEAF or right away at a low rate 100ppm N and 200ppm K dissolved in water.
