You don't know what "lil" cold is until you've trudged 1000' to the chicken coop with a bucket of hot water sloshing into your boots as you navigate through 3' of snow in 14 F weather with a bitter wind whipping at 15 MPH and icy droplets pelting you in the face just to discover that the feed can is empty so you have another 3000 feet to go again to get at least a scoop or 2 to make sure they're fed just so you can collect 3 very cold eggs from 20 hens who are giving up nearly nuthin' because they're just as tired of winter as you are.

Which is why I have lots of spare socks should they get a bit damp...
