Yes, 8' p-stem is average I've had them fruit at 7'and sometimes 9', maybe it's my microclimate and it would grow taller with different soil conditions.

There's a lot of history with this plant, my father and I bought it in Miami. That day we went to different nurseries looking for small avocado trees unfortunately we didn't find any. In one of the nurseries they were selling banana plants, they had only one variety Manzano the nursery attendant said that he grows this plant and he described the fruit as a sweet banana mixed with apple, that was 36 years ago I was 14 years old.
