I don't know if it would work for hot peppers and keep as well at basement temperature as these do with cucumbers, but I have a friend that does jalapeños with bread and butter pickle mix and then cans them, and they are excellent. If you made the peppers this way and then put them in the freezer, then they would of course keep for a long time. I do have a good pickled pepper recipe, if you go to northerntropics.com and click the recipe link, you will find it (and many other recipes, too).
