Default Re: Apple question

momoese,

In my experience, each variety fruits at about the same height, some consistently within a few inches. This helps know when to expect it to flower, and is useful to avoid pup removal and other disturbances near the time it begins to bloom (decreasing number and size of fruit).

They seem to fruit at shorter heights, and possibly later, when they are stressed, particularly when short on water and fertilizer, but most often stress will affect size and quantity of fruit more than bloom height, in my experience.
