Default Very bad timing by Mum & the 2 kids!

Finally after 3 years of feeding, watering & tender care my 2 cavendish pups flowered & fruited just ahead of Mum, but it was not good because it happened just before winter! Our winters are not harsh by any means, in fact I have not had frost in the 6 years I have been here, but some folks do locally! However we get blustery winds from the Indian Ocean & colder winds from a mixture of Southern / Indian oceans S/W. The result was that Mum & one of the pups died before ripening their bunches & the other pup produced a bunch of miniatures none any longer than 4 inches! However they were creamy & absolutely delicious ripening very conveniently one at a a time on the kitchen bench! Luckily there was a heap of baby pups afoot so I am madly pushing just 2 of them skywards in the hope of a better timed maternity next time! MERRY XMAS & CHEERS from Bunbury, SW Western Australia .
