Default fast bananas

[font="Arial Black"]Hello all. This my first post, so straighten me out.

I'm here in Mendocino County, CA, the used-to-be marijuana capital. I'm a lot more interested in bananas. Global warming has seemingly knocked our valley into zone 9b and here comes El Nino, almost permanently I suspect. The temperature lately has swung between the mid-80s and high 90s with high humidity that reminds me of Kauai. I grew over 50 varieties of bananas there, but here I'm restricting myself to 15 pygmies and faster producing ones. This is all experimental and I'll know more in anothr year, I hope.

I'm interested in assuring that I have ripe bananas, so the fast ripeniing ones have caught my attention. So, I have a couple of Veinte Cohols to start that seem promising. Then, the other day I saw two varieties offered on eBay: Kokopo (ripens 5-6 weeks) and Tigua (7-8 weeks) starts from Puerto Rico. After some negotiation, I purchased one of each. They are both from New Guinea and may not be hardy, but I can keep pups going in the greenhouse. The Puerto Ricans appear to be quite knowledgeable and will negotiate. They have several other interesting offers, including a quite wonderful, if the picture is true, hybrid plantain. Their offering were hidden on eBay's search tree and they were about to give up getting any play. We fixed that. Your comments? Don
