MsKitty, that combination can be used as a sole source of nutrients if desired. Provided the compost mixture is at least 1/2 veggie, fruit, and poop apply per tree per year about 7 cubic feet = 50 gallons = 200 liters = 0.2 cubic meters. It will of course break down to about 1/4 that size after 1 year.

If you instead use straight composted horse manure, half that amount will suffice.
