update.. purchased 15 more and moved to a shorter jar with a wider lid. the one from the picture above is 100% growing.. white/brown solid growth is forming. can't wait to see how it does! will take pictures once it pops out of the soil. 40 foot tall bananas, here i come! haha

also, purchased 10 musa ingens seeds.. can't wait for them to arrive.
