Re: E-Bay Warning
I live in Zone 5b/6 and, even up here, I've learned the hard way that recently-arrived or small banans need to be slowly introduced to the sun. I thought I'd pass along some things that have worked for me when transitioning them.
Once I plant them in the ground, I use a bit of pine mulch around them and then use old umbrellas to shade them during the main sun of the day. As soon as the period of hot sun passes, I just fold up the umbrellas and set aside for the next day. I also prop up my garden hose on a bucket with a wand attached on a mist setting and let them just get the finest of mist to keep them from stressing but not getting any significant water at once.
Everyone's growing situations are different, but this has worked so well for me, I thought I'd share it in case it might work for someone else.
