I did occasionally but not regularly. The center seems to rot out so I have been hesitant to put water in 'em.

I put big black plastic plant containers in front of the plants (and leave them there) so all they get is morning sun, and I let the plants grow taller than them, thus the plants get themselves acclimated to the light. My sprayers are on a timer to hit around the hottest part of the day.
