Storing/transporting banana leaves
Hi all, I've got a couple questions regarding banana leaves to be used for cooking.
(1) i'd like to take some leaves to a friend this weekend, but I'll be departing home on Thursday and not seeing her until Saturday. So looking at 48 hours they won't be in a refrigerator. I can put them in a cooler and hopefully keep them cool but true refrigeration is not guaranteed. Does this seem feasible? Best way to fold them up for transport?
(2) With the season winding down and all our leaves on the outdoor plants doomed to be zapped by frost within 4-6 weeks, I figure I might as well cut some and save for use over the cooler months if possible. I assume refrigeration can only keep them so long. How would freezing go? Again, any suggestions on how to fold or prepare them for freezing?
Thanks!
