Location of plant (protected, south side, higher ground, etc,) plays a big part. But we have found that Basjoo appears to have hardier leaves than the Sikkimensis which after first frost is zapped while Basjoo may just have a singe here or there. We have not tried the tender ones, so very good question for those growers on the borderline where bananas grow but still have rare frosts.
