I forgot to mention that I live in South west of France, near Bordeaux. Summers are hot, and winters are not so cold.
Last winter for instance, we get as low as -5 Celsius degrees, for some hours, nights. Very few cloudy days with constant negative temps, because we are not so far from the seaside, as soon as it rains, temperature rise, and we are frost free ( hence we seldom see snow here )
During day, sun exposed places, rise above 0 Celsius.

Big plus, our soil is drainy, sandy, and it can rains for days without to be water logged, damp.

There is a big avocado tree in my hometown that sets avocado fruits sometimes, and it's not a Mexicola type. Just to help you to figure out my climate.
