Default Re: Time to put the bananas to sleep for the Winter

Gonna try a different over-winter set-up this year as I have had so much success in the garage. I took Cincinanna's suggestion on heat and light to heart and moved the grow into the daylight basement of my house. I think the biggest issue will be humidity as our rather capacious wood stove is directly behind where I took the photo. I am still probably going to put up more reflective material and a curtain to protect the area from direct wood heat, but this should suffice for now.

There are definitely more plants to go in here, but the rest can be outside for several more weeks. These plants are recent divisions and I am doing my best to manage soil moisture levels so they have been in areas protected from overhead water. I know there are some ugly spots on the leaves but at this point they have stabilized and the plants should start to show some movement.

The small plant sitting on the shelf to the left is the sikkimensis I got from Phyllostachys and is doing well. Its just about to open it's first new leaf.
