i dont know about the ruby but with my nanas sometimes there is one waiting but sometimes there is not. i have had 2 leaves open on each.. my saba and my oronico in less then a week.the saba and oronico are in a race to see who can get a new leaf and open it first. but my basjoos only open one leaf a week(so far). my ornamentals sometimes have a leaf open and there is another waiting to come out. hope this helps. i guess it varies on the nana.
