My favorite salsa is what most places call pico de gallo. Ingredients are all fresh, of course.
The recipe is as follows:
2 parts 1/4 inch cubed tomatoes (Romas work the best and have a great flavor)
1 part 1/4 cubed white onion
1 part chopped cilantro
Lime juice to help in keeping it turning brown
Salt and pepper to taste.
That's it.
I add some minced jalapenos to give it some kick.....
This stuff is addictive. Chips are just a delivery mechanism.
