well Bob i would think if your Bananas had panama you would know it pretty fast but as its highly contagious you mite have spread it around pretty good before you realized you had it but on the other hand unless you live in a zone that is conducive to the spread of such diseases probably isn't going to spread i think its mainly a concern for the members living in say FL and all those wet zone 10 i live in zone 9 and i would say that its possible for panama to survive here but unlikely how ever being that I'm the second driest place in the USA the likely hood is astronomical unless maybe i would spread it by the use of infected tools i do and every one should always use good sanitation practices in the garden never use a tool on one plant then go directly to another with out cleaning that tool first this is particularly important with roses as the we all know they are infected if they are grafted almost always. thank God i done buy grafted roses any more J&P suck and have ruined the rose industry here in the USA for those of you that don't know you don't have to buy grafted roses thees days theres lots that will survive in the cold with out the grafting process well I'm digressing sorry people i didn't mean to hijack this thread! go back to what you were talking about before i interrupted LOL
