I am looking for a banana species that will have the following characteristics:

- thrive in zone 9 - 10
- very sandy soil
- mostly full sun
- nice visual barrier (8 feet and taller)
- some wind tolerance
- tasty fruit!

Thanks in advance!!

There are all kinds of bananas growing around you in San Diego. Check out the member map and see, then click on their names and see the varieties in their profiles. Pitangdiego also has a huge selection for purchase. You can find him here or on his website for Encanto Farms. Several other members grow/sell banana plants in the San Diego area.
Good luck!
