Default Re: Banana starting to stretch

Thanks, you were right - it seems to be doing OK. It eventually stretched enough I had to move it to a room with a higher ceiling - but it doesn't seem to be weak at the stem and looks healthy.

Now I have several others in the garage, got a few of them from Pete back before winter and they died back and started growth from the corm again - many of them are stretching like crazy. The Blue Java IC seem to be fine, but the Siam Ruby and Bordelon look especially stretched - the Siam Ruby would flop right over if I didn't stake it - it's pathetically thin and flimsy. The Sabas I think will eventually get it together and be OK, they are a tad stretched too though.

Do I need to give them more light? The halides seem to be fine for most everything else - but should I move these stretched ones into the GH outside? And how should I handle the flimsy growth? Should I chop it off and let it start regrowing in the spring once I have these in the ground? I know it won't stand a chance against even a slight breeze. Figured I'd save it from flopping over.
