Adrift is right in the FL mountains (sandhill habitat to an ecologist) the freezes are hard. I used to grow citrus up there, worked with watermelons, and in the 80s saw snow twice. I live in zone 10 now where I grow many of the tropical fruits you saw at Fairchild. Miami is alot warmer than the rest of the state except the Keys. I'm pleased you like our state, and one reason why I'm still here!
