Re: basjoo edges turn black
One of my three basjoos did exactly that all summer. It was far more sensetive than the other two. If it had even slightly too much water it would get the black edges. If the soil got a little too dry some of the leaves would snap down, as if the plant didn't have enough energy to sustain them. My other two handled excess water fine, and if the soil was dry, they were ok until they got watered. The two came from a nursery here in NJ, called TripleOaks. The weaker plant was Monrovia, bought at a larger retailer.
