Like I said before, I do not have first hand knowledge of this as my plant has not fruited. However, all the reading/research I did prior to buying it said that it produces small bunches of medium to large fruit that are of excellent dessert quality. So I would say, yes, they produce edible bananas, just not quite as many as larger varieties would (make perfect sense, though considering the relative size of the plant).
