Bob, Yes it was an eBay jobbie. It arrived with no leaves and no roots either. It had also spent 45 mins in different soaks to kill off any bugs/nasties.

It was a large tuber with around 18 " or so of trunk. God knows how they expect them to grow with no roots to take up moisture/food and leaves for Sun. It just sat there for Three weeks without doing a thing. I contacted the seller who told me to cut off 10% of the trunk. When I did this I found that the inner stem has the dark brown rotten centre. I cut it back to almost the corm before I found clean growth. Then it just sat on the heatmat until it died.

Too expensive to buy another.
