My long-awaited shipment of carnivorous plants arrived today. I hadn't even finished unpacking them when I turned my back on one for maybe thirty seconds... and one of my cats ate it! Little brat.
It was a pitcher plant (sarracenia) and she didn't eat the roots, so both cat and plant will survive the experience, but I was still pretty darn annoyed. And then she tried to sneak around me and eat a sundew too, but I caught her and shooed her away.
I'll have to be certain to take the bananas outside immediately when they come, I think! She would no doubt try to eat them too. So far the only plant she hasn't attempted to eat is my split rock plant, apparently the "I am a rock, not a plant, don't eat me" camo is working for it.
