I'm blacklisted for what was explained to me as "revolutionary leanings" - basically, this menas that they think I'm a communist. Which is about 180 degrees from the truth, but oh well. As far as I can tell, it stems from a performance of Mother Courage and Her Children that I was involved in, and my membership with the New Democrat Party of Canada (which are actually left-leaning social-capitalists ideologically.) I've never been arrested or anything like that - in fact I have world-recognized awards for what I do (theatre design/scenography).

I am actually Canadian, just of Scots extraction. I think it was more the blacklisted thing that got me blocked. I would have taken a PhD there if they'd let me.
