The Siam Ruby is not very tolorant to over watering especially in cooler climates. If it rains here for more than a few days (which of course it does) i have to put them undercover. Unfortunately in the UK they are a good house plant but not great for outdoors.
its not the water per say its the cool temperatures with the water that make for a deadly combo i think that generally hold true for all Bananas that I'm aware of
