Default Possible Misi Luki problem?

This plant seemed to be growing great when I then noticed that the next leaf was not coming out as quickly as previous ones. It is starting to brown and the pseudostem seems to be unraveling. The pups are growing great and are almost 3/4 of the height of the motherplant. I noticed black spotting on the stems and leaves. We finally started getting some warm humid days here in Massachusetts. I would appreciate any advice.

Another question I have is what happens if a motherbulb is not allowed to produce a banana within a certain period of time. Does it just put all its energy into producing pups and then dies or will it just keep on trying.

Thanks
Tom
