Pinwheel Assistance request Musa AAB - Banana Prata ana

Dear all,

I have brought back from Brazil (Pernambuco State, NE) two rhizomes (bulbs) of banana prata (MUSA AAB) long more or less 25 inches (60 cm).
I have planted it in a vase with a diameter of about 60cm, with high quality soil.
Ihave found out that the rhizome should be trimmed before plant it....is it true, or also without trim it it will be fine?
Then, the external leaves are drying, and the plant does not look very healthy...
I am located in Milan, Northern Italy, and currently we have pretty much the same atmospheric conditions as Pernambuco...but still it is not producing leaves after 10 days.

Can you give me some tips?

Thank you in advance
