Default From France with love...

Hello everybody,

I'm the very latest newbie on this forum. Professional dj but hardy exotics lover too. I live in Toulouse souhern France where I designed an exotic garden in my little yard a few years ago. Most of the plants I manage to grow are succulents because xerophyts seem to be more adapted to my climate. Still have to learn about cannas, hedychiums, and bananas

Images are better than words for now. Let's check my website ...>> Exoticatolosa
Unfortunately not yet translated into english except the homepage, but pictures and video are universal !

Best regards,

Franck

Here's a pic of my rather pretty Musa sikkimensis sp Manipur, which survived last winter with no protection at all.

Hi guys,

Here are some news of the only one banana tree in my garden, Musa sikkimensis manipur.

Finally at least as hardy or more than the standard musa basjoo. The strain growed up back from the ground after the terrible winter 2012/13. Sikkimensis sp. Manipur faced temps as low as 5F with a lot of snow. The ground did not thaw during weeks (3) that winter. No protection at all.

The plant totally recovered next season. And I decided to cover the stem last winter (2012/13) as you can see, despite a milder winter (lowest at 20F).

I love that banana tree.

Franck
