Default Basjoo or Musella?

I bought this plant as a Basjoo and always thought it was, but it's leaves have quite a blue cast to them. I've never grown a Musella lasiocarpa or have seen one in person.
Could mine be a Musella? I hope someone can tell from the photo.
This may be a really dumb question, but how difficult is it to tell Musa from Musella?
Mine has never flowered, it's starting to get offsets now.
Whatever it is, I like the plant a lot.

That's a musella lasiocarpa for sure. Basjoos grow much, much taller...up to 20 feet!

Thanks Austin. I knew Basjoo grew taller, but this plant is only about 2-3 years old, I think.
First the color made me suspicious, then the fact that all the leaves were staying intact on the plant and not dying back like on my other Musa. Maybe I'll get a bloom this year.

I'm pretty positive. I think the pstem looks like musella rather than ensete. Maybe others can weigh in?

I'm with you Bob I thought Ensete when I first saw that pic. But, its seems there was controversy weather Musella Lasiocarpa was musa or ensete so they ended up considering it another genus thus the musella. You can read about it here:

Musella - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

I'm with Austin, it's a Musella. I do see the similarities with Ensete glaucum, however.

It looks more like a Musella to me. The petioles (not sure that is the correct term for a banana leaf stalk) on my E. glaucum are shorter and more chunky, but that plant looks a lot bigger than Musella generally get in the UK, most flower when only about 4 feet tall, and pup like crazy while the main plant is still going, which Ensete don't.

Best regards
Dave

Kinda looks like the missing link between Musa and Ensete in that pic, maybe oneday someone should try to hybridize Musella with Ensete.

When Austin says it's a Musella, that it sure is. He is the Musella king in my book! I was so impressed with his Musella producing all those blooms with ease! I hope mine gets to bloom this season.

I appreciate it! How is your musella doing that I sent a while back? I have one that's blooming now.
