Musa ornata 'aurea' (orange)

Does this look like a Musa ornata to you? Kinda reminds me of M.coccinea.

This should be Musa "Coccinea" if I am not mistaken.

Reminds me a bit of Musa beccari.

It's not Musa coccinea or M. beccarii. Not M. ornata either, for that matter. Wish I knew! It actually looks a lot like what rarepalmseeds.com was selling as Musa ornata 'Orange Flower' not too long ago. I managed to get two of those seeds to sprout, and one is still alive and doing OK. It also looks a whole lot like the Musa rubinea 'Orange' on the Nature Products website.

It's definitely NOT M. aurantiaca either!

From the feedback on RPS it sounds like an easy one to sprout. They still haven't posted my germination comments on E.perrerii...I wonder why lol.

About Musa ornata 'Orange Flower': I will say that it is one of the most dwarf species I have ever grown! The lone plant I have is still well under a foot tall after 8 months. If you get any to sprout, make sure you pot it up into a very small pot with a well-drained mix. It also seems to like lots of heat.

Ditto with E. perrieri for me...

Well, I've just ordered a load, so once they're potted up and growing we'll see, might need to keep some in the poly tunnel to get them to flower here though. :bunchonanas:
