![]() Hello everyone. I want to know what kind of edible bananas (if at all) can be grown in South-West British Columbia. I believe we are a zone 8a or 8b here, but I suppose there are other factors involved with growing bananas, i.e., cool summers. If I can grow something like Dwarf Orinoco, how would I go about getting the seeds or roots?
Thanks in advance! |

![]() I can't think of any variety to perform an actual edible fruiting Banana in our zone, other than using a cold frame or hot house environment, as my Musa basjoo did form fruit but it also would have required 6 more months of plus 20c temp to ripen....I do not believe that there is such a variety out there for the wet coast of BC? Pls prove me wrong...
