![]() Here's a link to some huge ensete bananas in zone 4. This guy also had a windmill palm in the ground for 20+ yrs. I ordered some of the same bananas so I can start using this technique to keep them alive in zone 5.

![]() Yeah, I've been watching that guy's progress for a while now. Searching for him actually helped me stumble across this forum!
I would love to try his methods and see how they do in 5b Nebraska!

![]() I lived in Utah a few years back and I took a trip to visit his place. It is impressive what he has kept alive year after year. he keeps a few texas star bananas alive each winter unter a homemade styrofoam box with a single compact flouresent light bulb left on 24-7

![]() The man in the link says the 4 foot stump weighs several hundred pounds! Oh man, I just bought a little one a week ago. I'm keeping it in a pot this year. I'll probably put in the ground next year when I find a place. I guess I have a few years before I have to figure out how to wrestle a real monster! I can't wait to see the neighbors' reactions!
