Default Should I cut it down?

Have a few bananas in the cabin which I try to keep at 60F; all are under fluorescent growing light 12 hrs/day. In Sep I aquired 2 M Basjoos. One had red spider mites so I sprayed it aggressively with water. All its leaves have died but the stem remains. The other M Basjoos has also lost some leaves but is still, slowly producing new leaves. Should I cut the first one down or leave it alone or ?????

I don't see any reason why you should cut it down, unless there is rot
at the top of the stem.
