Re: Change from the container in ground Musa sikkimensis, Musa basjoo, Musa acuminata
Start up grow as weeds, very much even we will be glad. We landed them through one, a banana, a bamboo, a banana, a bamboo.. It will be the whole wood! Banana-bamboo avenue. Yes, we would like to receive fruit of these kinds, seeds and to look as there is a full cycle of flowering, to compare to other versions. We have landed some more versions. It Musa itinerans (forma India), Musa Violacea and Musa Dwarf Cavendish. On a photo it is visible that at Musa Dwarf Cavendish yellow leaves. It affects fall of temperatures to +5 degrees. Heating yet have not started, it will be a bit later. All bananas have transferred it normally, and here Dwarf Cavendish has reacted so. I hope it will recover. The greenhouse reaches in height of 5 metres. There is a question, whether it will suffice our bananas? Namely: Musa itinerans (forma India) and Musa sikkimensis? Employees of a garden told that earlier dews Musa sp. Helen's Hybrid in the earth, in a greenhouse. And it was extended under the roof, has broken all leaves, but and has not blossomed. It have cut down. Can be have hurried and it was necessary to wait any time.?!? We will try to plant it again we will look can be it will turn out to blossom at it this time, a bit later.:0517::goteam::drum:

Re: Change from the container in ground Musa sikkimensis, Musa basjoo, Musa acuminata
All hello! I wish to update pictures of plants which have been landed in a ground. So. Musa itinerans India Form was not lost nearly, for the unknown reasons, or to it it was strongly cool or the ground which for it prepared, has not approached. There is a probability that compost was not completely ready and has burnt to it root system. But it was possible to transplant and keep in time it it. Musa acuminata ssp. siamea too has not got accustomed. It has been planted at the very end of a greenhouse and cool air has stopped its growth in a winter season. It was necessary to plant it far away, is closer to the middle, there is much warmer. I think it this hour will start to grow much better. The most good growth has shown Musa sikkimensis!!! He already has grown more than two metres and has given many puppies, now there will be a whole bed of this kind. Musa Basjoo have damaged casually, have broken to it a stalk, but he has endured it also this hour has begun active growth. Well also has started to grow Musa Dwarf Cavendish. Also have decided to land in ground Musa sp. Helenīs Hybrid. And it has started to grow very quickly. Here all photos:

Your plants look like they're doing great! I'm sure they really appreciate being planted in the ground and being able to stretch their roots a bit. Lots of great pics in this thread...thanks for sharing!

Re: Change from the container in ground Musa sikkimensis, Musa basjoo, Musa acuminata
Ante, to plants Musa sikkimensis and Musa Helen's hybrid approximately 1,2-1,5 years. I have started to land them in a ground in the last autumn. Musa sikkimensis ' Darjeeling giant ' about one year. I have landed it in a ground in this spring, before it grew in a pot. Musa itinerans India Form somewhere two years. For the first time, when I have landed it in the earth, it hasn't got accustomed also I nearly hasn't lost this kind, but all has managed. In the second time all has turned out also this hour it well grows. Musa formosana has sprouted on April, 26th this year, it absolutely young, but grows well. The temperature during winter time keeps approximately +12 +15 night and +20 day. Considerably slows down growth only Musa acuminata ssp., I will lay out its photo a little later. Other bananas feel well at such temperatures. But in the summer very much hot, leaves get solar burns, growth maximum.
Ken, puppies have appeared later, already after landing, gradually turning to a clump. |
Re: Change from the container in ground Musa sikkimensis, Musa basjoo, Musa acuminata
Raules did you grow your formosana from seed? if so how long did it take to sprout? I ask because I have some now and I was curious how long yours took. Did you do anything special to get yours to germinate?
Your pictures look great. thanks so much. |
Re: Change from the container in ground Musa sikkimensis, Musa basjoo, Musa acuminata
Musa acuminata ssp.
I think that it acuminata ssp. siamea, but probably I am mistaken. The same banana grows at me in the container, it a bit more and is more senior what grows in a ground. At us 2 types unidentified Musa acuminata ssp. Distinctions between them are present. Eric, age Musa formosana 6 months and 25 days. He has grown from a seed, under usual conditions. Musa acuminata ssp. type 2 Musa Dwarf Cavendish Ensete ventricosum Small bananas |
Re: Change from the container in ground Musa sikkimensis, Musa basjoo, Musa acuminata
All hello! Here updating of pictures Musa itinerans India Form (Musa itinerans sp. nov) and Musa formosana. Light day increases also growth of plants is considerably accelerated.
In pictures it is visible accurate signs of distinction between two wild species. Color of leafs and color pseudostem are various. I here think, whether the greenhouse height - 6 meters, for flowering will suffice them? Other bananas any more don't manage to let out new leaves in the whole condition. They very big also break already about a roof. More soon a flower. |
