Default Drip Irrigation

Should I use drip irrigation for my bananas?

Edit...I mean a soaker hose

Ornamental or fruiting bananas?
In the ground or in a container?
If container, what size?
In what kind of media?
At what frequency and quantity?
Indoors or outdoors?
If indoors, what kind of lighting?

Sorry. I mean soaker hose. They are ornamentals in the ground in clay outdoors.

I used soaker hose before. I found it to have pressure loss after about 25 - 30 ft. The water output did not seem like the best. I felt like it was wasting water and took to long to water. I could also see, the plants on one end of the hose were much smaller.

Thanks. I'll just continue to water by hand.

I set up drip irrigation to my bananas, since we have water restriction, this focuses the water around the base of the bananas. I can only water twice a week like this. I also water by hand 2 or 3 other days of the week since we have been very dry and very hot. So far so good, seems to be keeping them happy.

Banana roots can extend 10 feet and more fro the corm. A single ring of drip will not service that area.
