If you like your Plumeria as it is Matt,leave it be and it will eventually bloom on its own,probably this year. Seed grown ones take just a little longer to bloom than cuttings.

But I agree, seed grown plant may take a bit to bloom. Sorry, that should have been my first answer!
I got mine as cuttings. After a few years my plants were getting big (and hadn't bloomed) so I took cuttings. And then got blooms. I was surprised.

yes they need to cut dry for week then plant. might get some rooting hormone

If the banana leaf area where the lighter streaks are located in your photo is thinner then the darker green areas of the leaf, then no its not Variegated. its usually caused from over feeding the nanner or a build up of the nutrients in your soil. Also, look to see if any of the leafs are distorted or twisted weird, instead of like a perfect cigar shape that they should have before opening, that is an indicator of the same issue too. Let me know what you find out.

So is this thing Varigated? Or is this some nitrient def? It was not present on the initial mother plant, but was evident on most pups. It could be because I lowered the pH so now its showing or a nute def bc there is sometimes wierd disfigurements in the leaves near these markings.

The first week of March has been cold here in south Florida with highs in the 60sF and lows in the 40sF. My bananas seem healthy and grew about 12 to 15 inches this winter,but the leaves are shredded from strong winds. Fortunately, no frost this year.

The plants I brought up to Santa Clara really seem to be adjusting well to the greenhouse. They're beginning to grow again.

After coming home from the weekend at my girlfriends I discovered I accidentally left my lights on all weekend. I also found my "strong basjoo" looking pretty week. I don't know what is causing this, it's the first sign of it...

here is my dwarf cavendish, going on year 2 and a basjoo pup I saved from the mat at my old home. I have another basjoo pup hidden behind the DC Im getting about a new leaf a month but I can tell they are coming faster now. Another week or so and they can probably go outside for good.

edit 3-14-13. Well what do ya know. I checked the pineapple last night and the darn thing is starting to flower. About time. It must have heard me say it was going outside. LOL

Lookin good there Mike. Seein' warmer temps on the horizon here and I can't wait! Farmers Almanac's calling for a warm start in April and I hope it's right!

Hopefully tonight will be the coldest one for a while anyway.

Uncovered my basjoos the other day, not as happy as I would have hoped but these stumps look like they should put out some leaves. Either way pretty sure the roots are alive and will start from pups worst case scenario.

Protection, doesn't look so pretty under the tarp.

Unwrapped, lookin much worse than expected...

Some p-stem was salvaged though...

They took one day early one in winter that went down to -20C and they weren't tucked in too tight yet at that point, which I think it what hurt them so much. Been covering them back up at night a bit because its still getting below freezing for a few hours but hoping that letting the sun warm up the soil for a while each day will get them kickstarted sooner than later.

Also Matt, my first hibiscus flower opened this morning. Any signs of buds on yours yet? Mines really dying to get back outside and fill in some serious foliage again.

lucky i live in Australia i never have to worry about the winter my Bananas grow outside 12 months of the year

No I've been tucking them back in at night with some of the dry leaves and the tarp. Just been trying to warm the soil a bit during the day. Hopefully in a week or 2 ill be able to leave them uncovered for the most part.
