I was at Home Depot today and notice this Musa Banana Plant. However, I'm not sure what type? It's says ornamental........but was hoping it would fruit......... ![]() Also it's growing pups and it the leaves been broken off is that bad? Will it regrow? The center look great....should I buy it? ![]() |

![]() Dang, my Home-depot and Lowes haven't started selling bananas yet, I'm sure you're down south? My guess is some kind of balbisiana? BB/BBB?

![]() I just got my dwarf cavendish plant today but the plant already out grown its small pot. Its just about a foot hight in a 4 1/2 pot....I have a nice 10 inch pot I would like to use now. It that ok you think to transplant?

![]() Just be aware you are the only one that has thanked me on this post.
A real pro will tell you an I.D. can't be accurate without a picture of the flower and/or fruit too. I guessed musa lasiocarpa because lasiocarpa might turn down a buyer, your location, and information on height was determining. I potted all mine in 10 inchers after I got em. Bigger the better though. After they get tall, wind will be an enemy. |
