![]() Hello all,
My Northern Tropics order arrived today...I bought three plants: 1. Thai Black 2. Sumatrana x Gran Nain 3. Bordelon They came bare rooted (because I am in California) and very well wrapped and protected. I immediately stuck them in water without removing the moist newspaper around the roots. While they were getting a drink, I prepared three pots with soil for palms (it's what I had on hand)...hopefully it'll be alright for them. The Sumatrana x and the Bordelon regained turgidity rapidly and looked like they had never been outside my home! The two largest leaves on the Thai Black have perked up well too. Sandy at Northern Tropics is great to work with. She replaced my rejected order immediately and it arrived fast.

![]() Good luck! Now you are totally bitten by 'the bug' (the 'nanner bug), and you will have to change your on-line name to 'just-one-more'

![]() Yug,
You're right! While you were typing that post I was searching for the elusive A'e A'e! LOL We're lucky to live where we do because you can grow bananas outdoors. I see huge red Abyssinians all around town. People grow other kinds of banana here too. We are fairly humid being on the ocean and it never freezes (once in a very rare blue moon, if ever). We have the wind though. I don't know if these plants are fruiting...I like 'em just for the plant anyway...the fruit would be a bonus. I think I saw someone growing Ko in their front yard yesterday! I love tropical plants! Hey, how are your rare guys doing?
