Yeah I think others have had them take much longer outside of the tropics. Wasn't super tall, but nothing gets normal height for me. Maybe 12' but keep in mind it was stunted from falling repeatedly and enduring drought before that.

Grown outdoors here in Northern California: who said you couldn't grow bananas here?!

FINALLY! A few days shy of a year after the first bloom opened, my first Ice Cream bunch has been harvested! It took 3 long years from planting the large, healthy sword sucker to harvesting the first bunch. Let's not count the 5 years of searching for the real deal Ice Cream to acquire it. Going to do a taste report as soon as we get to try them. Photos taken 8/14/18:

Awesome! How is the flavor? I have a small pup in the ground and it has strangely produced two pups already. Its a TC plant yet one pup will soon be as tall as the original TC plant.

World's most pathetic Pitogo bunch. At least they taste better than the only one other undeveloped Pitogo bunch I've grown. Between bunchy top and rot I don't have much luck with Pitogo.
